Hi my loves,

If I’ve never given you a proper introduction: Hello & Happy New Year! I’m Makayla, the owner of MADE. I'm 26 years old and I live in Texas. I'm a full time content creator turned entrepreneur and a self proclaimed chef. I love spending time with my family and friends, listening to music (R&B is my fave) and 9/10 I’m the goofiest person in the room. I’m a very simple girl, who some how managed to grow my personal instagram page into a business.

After working on hundreds of different brand collaborations over the course of 3 years, and being in a time where you realize life can change at any instant — I decided to go out on a whim and start my very own brand in September of 2020. Since then, my life has changed in so many ways. I never even imagined to be where I am today, not just physically but my mindset as well. I've learned so much about running a business and also about myself as a young woman trying to survive my 20's in this crazy world.

MADE is something I take such great pride in. It’s something that I want to represent who I actually am as a person, and what’s important to me. Which is why this rebrand is sooo necessary! “Excited” isn’t even the word to announce that I am back and bringing a new vision to MADE. I feel rejuvenated, full of life and ready to do things MY way. It has been a long time coming and now I’m finally able to share the new direction with you all, my community.

Before I dive into the details of the rebrand, I want to take a moment to talk about something that has been the theme of my life lately: ✨self love✨. A wise man once said, “Love yourself girl or nobody will”, and he told no lies! Allow me to be fully transparent for a moment about a part of my journey.

In MADE's first year, I was working 40+ hours a week, running MADE independently, and being a full time content creator. Finally, in August 2021, I got to a point where I was ready leave my career job in the dental field to pursue content creation and MADE full time. I did get a part time job as a personal assistant (which was literally the most bad ass job ever) because I was scared to take that drastic leap from being a full time salaried employee with amazing benefits, working for one of the best companies in San Antonio, to doing everything on my own. I wanted a little something to fall back on. I was working about 20/30 hrs a week and my work schedule was really all over the place because as a personal assistant, there really isn't a set schedule to have.

After almost a year of working there, still creating content full time and managing to drop new collections every week, plan photo shoots, send out orders, respond to emails, making content, editing content, updating the website, updating socials, etc… I was completely burnt out. I also wasn’t going about things the correct way either, not intentionally but I just didn’t have the knowledge that I do now. I was in such a hurry to put out the next best thing and would feel like a complete failure if it didn’t exceed my already sky high expectations. All of this led me to taking some time off of MADE to focus on my own self care. I needed some time to really just focus onMAKAYLA✨.

So I left Texas for 6 weeks, traveling to California to spend some time with my family and then went to Hawaii, with my boyfriend and his son to spend time with their family, and just decompress for the summer. When I tell you that it literally made a world of difference for me — I’m in a completely different space. That time off let me breathe and move at my own pace. I finally didn't feel the constant pressure that I'd put on myself. It was like I released all this built up tension from inside of me. I realize that I used to do everything in a rush. Not that I wanted to rush, but I liked getting things done quickly. After actually having time to relax and slow down, I realized that it's okay to slow down. I am in control of this — all of it.

As I’m growing as a person, I want to make sure that my brand always aligns with who I am. No matter what phase of life I'm in, if there’s one thing I have to do it’s stay true to myself. MADE is my brand, I can move at whatever pace I choose to. I can move in whatever direction I choose to and I can release whatever I choose to.

I loved putting out all the trendiest clothes and helping women feel confident in what they wear — but there’s wayyy more to life than just how you dress. It starts within. I feel so connected with myself and who I am, and I stand firmly behind what I believe. MADE is so special to me because it’s honestly the first thing that I set my mind to and accomplished all on my own. I'm ready to hit the ground running and create a lifestyle brand like never seen before. I want to inspire women and men to truly take care of themselves and deeply give themselves that love that they deserve so they can be the best them — inside and out. 🤍

So, with all that being said: what can you expect from the new and improved MADE? For starters, we will have this blog. I was super nervous about starting it but now as I’m on my 4th edit, I’m so grateful and excited to see what will come of it. Somehow while growing my social media platforms, I simultaneously developed a crippling social anxiety (I think it’s also from having no socialization most of the time since I left my 9-5 job) but I've been working on it. I also have a fear of putting my thoughts and opinions on the internet, mainly because there’s been a few times I get crazy hateful dm's whenever I share things.. but I can't let others hate run me away.

So, this will be an outlet for me to share motivation, style inspiration, behind-the-scenes glimpses into our business, lifestyle posts, relationship advice (or maybe just me “my man, my man, my man”-ing y’all to death) and personal updates and growth. We will also be expanding our product line to include a wider range of items, such as wellness items, menswear, decor and so much more. And of course, we will continue to offer the high quality, unique clothing and accessories that our customers have come to know and love. I have a few tricks up my sleeve for y’all!

I can't wait for you to see all of the exciting changes that are in store. Our next release will be a special product I've been working on for a while now.. It's something completely new to MADE but is very special to me. I created guided journals with over 150 pages and 45 prompts and 45 affirmations. My next blog post will be diving into the details about the journals, but if you’ve read this far, thank you! If you have anything you want to share, please leave me a comment. This whole post was dreadful to even think for me, but I'm getting comfortable being uncomfortable and I feel so free now that I've taken a step to give myself to space on my platform to unapologetically be me.

Thank you for allowing me to open up for a bit and as always, thank for your continued support and for joining me on this journey. I am excited to see what the future holds for MADE, and I hope you will join me in celebrating this new chapter. Be sure to follow me and MADE on social media and sign up for our newsletter to stay up to date on all things new and exciting! 🤎✨

XO,

Makayla 💋
